Join us on November 17th from 10 AM until 1 PM in the beautiful Community Classroom at Westside New Leaf for a workshop discussing Holiday Eating and Ayurvedic Cooking. A wholesome Ayurvedic lunch will be included.

Fall and winter are a time where there are many family gatherings, holidays, and food galore! While this is a time to celebrate, it can also lead to many digestive and emotional issues. This time can make people feel uncomfortable physically from all the food and sweets and mentally from feeling out of control around food and family. In this workshop we will go over Ayurvedic tips and tricks for dealing with holiday foods and self-care. We will discuss ways to digest and assimilate holiday foods better, ways to eat in a balanced way, and dietary ways to feel satiated longer.

Ayurveda believes that the foundation of health starts with the digestive system. If your diet is not creating healthy microbes in the gut, then medicine alone will be insufficient. When diet is “correct” it becomes your medicine, which leads to a healthy digestive tract and overall well-being. In Ayurveda we treat the gut to treat the brain.

Ever go into a grocery store (especially the spices and herbs sections) and feel overwhelmed and lost? You know something might be good for you, but you don’t know why or how? In this workshop we will break down the Ayurvedic principles of common kitchen spices and herbs and introduce traditional Ayurvedic Herbs. You’ll learn how to best use and cook them and then be able to eat them with our Ayurvedic Lunch!

We look forward to seeing you there!
