Join us on August 25th from 10am-1pm for a workshop combining western science and Ayurveda!

In this workshop, we will be touching upon the basics of Ayurveda and Tridosha theory, which examines one’s unique body and mind constitution before presenting a real case study of one of Aparna’s patients with Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, and fatty liver. We will delve into how western research and Ayurveda have a more comprehensive outlook for healing. This workshop will show us how to improve our health through past modalities and new technology.

About your Hosts:

It is our pleasure and an honor to have a guest presenter Aparna Dandekar, MD. She is a board certified family physician trained in three medical sciences: Western (Allopathic) Medicine, Osteopathy, and Ayurveda. She is currently an associate physician at UC Berkeley Student Health Services. In her words, “The philosophy that I adhere to is simple: nature knows best. My long-held faith in nature’s wisdom is further strengthened by my Osteopathic and Ayurvedic training. At the same time, my experience as an allopathic physician has given me the utmost respect for modern science. I believe that balanced health can be best achieved by aligning ourselves with the guidelines handed down from ages past, while being open to today’s technological advancements.”

Manish Chandra is the founder of Santa Cruz Ayurveda and has been practicing Ayurveda for the past six years. Besides his clinical practice, he has been hosting the monthly workshop in Santa Cruz for the past four years.

This workshop will include an Ayurvedic Meal. The meal will be vegan and gluten free.
