6 Month Gut Healing Protocol

Do you struggle with food allergies, low energy, sleep disorders, skin conditions, depression, or weight gain? These concerns have become increasingly prevalent across America driven by a perfect storm of processed foods, environmental stressors, unresolved trauma, and the chronic, compounding effects of prolonged stress. Over time, these pressures push us toward coping mechanisms that feel necessary in the moment: reaching for comfort foods, sugary quick fixes, or falling into sedentary patterns just to get through the day. Left unaddressed, these habits quietly lay the groundwork for a wide spectrum of deeper health conditions.

Who can benefit from healing the gut?

“To heal the brain, we first heal the gut”  is an enduring principle found throughout Ayurvedic wisdom. In today’s world, this teaching is more relevant than ever. Periodically rebooting the digestive system and replenishing it with healthy microbes and balanced gut flora is something every body can benefit from supporting optimal digestion, sustained energy, and long-term inner harmony.

For those navigating challenges such as skin imbalances, food sensitivities, or autoimmune concerns; digestive or metabolic sluggishness; mood fluctuations or low energy; cravings or unwanted weight changes; stress, sleep disturbances, or seasonal congestion; irregular elimination; or feminine and menstrual health discomfort, restoring gut health has shown profound results in reducing symptoms and bringing the body back into balance.

6 Months to Heal?

Habits are deeply human. Over time, we settle into patterns that feel familiar and comfortable, yet not all of them serve our long-term vitality. Through years of ingrained food choices and lifestyle routines, the body can quietly begin to accumulate imbalances that, left unaddressed, erode our health from the inside out. The good news is that habits are learned, and what is learned can be unlearned. True healing begins not by masking symptoms, but by addressing the root from which they arise.

In Ayurveda, everything begins and ends with gut health. This is not merely ancient philosophy, modern science is now producing compelling research confirming the gut as a central source of countless conditions affecting the whole body. For over 5,000 years, Ayurveda has understood what researchers are only beginning to quantify: that the health of an individual is inseparable from the health of their digestive system. Gut microbes govern everything from cellular energy production to immune resilience, and emerging research is drawing meaningful connections between the microbiome and conditions ranging from obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, to arthritis, inflammatory bowel conditions, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and beyond.

At the heart of this understanding is a simple truth, the microbiome is a reflection of what it is fed. This gives us a remarkably accessible path forward: thoughtful, sustainable shifts in diet and lifestyle that yield profound improvements in energy, clarity, and overall well-being.

This is why Ayurveda has long maintained that health is determined not only by what you eat, but more fundamentally, by what you are able to digest. The gut is where nourishment begins, where food is first broken down and made useful to the body. Through what Ayurveda calls Agni (the digestive fire), food is transformed and its nutrients are assimilated into every cell. When Agni is weakened and healthy gut flora are depleted, food is not fully processed. Instead, it becomes a source of internal toxicity known in Ayurveda as Ama, which accumulates in fat cells, becomes trapped within the intestinal tract, and over time clogs the delicate intestinal villi, impairing the body’s ability to absorb and utilize nourishment.

Our gut healing protocol works systematically to reverse this process gently detoxifying accumulated Ama, replenishing the gut with healthy microbes, and clearing the intestinal pathways so that nutrients are properly absorbed, the body finds its natural balance, and the mind regains its clarity.

Our Six Month Gut Healing Protocol

Our goal is to restore the natural harmony in the gut so that we can have more energy, radiance, and vitality in life. Monthly ayurvedic consultations are focused on internal detoxification through diet, lifestyle, and herbs. Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga) is focused on external detoxification, since our skin is our largest organ and is able to directly release toxins. Ayurvedic massage is very different than other forms of massages since it is focused on moving lymph through the application of herbal infused warm oil with specialized strokes. Abhayanga increases circulation, stimulate the lymphatic system, improve joint health, calm the nervous system and improve skin tone. Monthly workshops are focused on the educational platform for learning this “Science of Life.” We often invite guests with knowledge on health and wellness, and the community aspects of our workshops are fun and life-affirming. Since our classroom is facilitated with a modern kitchen we often teach how to cook with medicinal spices and herbs that support health and wellness. Topics range from: Gut Healing, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Ayurvedic Cooking, Ayurvedic Herbs and Spices, The Neuroscience of Habits, and Ayurveda as an Adjunct healing for Type 2 Diabetes.

How does it work?

In the first two months we focus on detoxification using food and herbs (based on your individual body type) that aid in removal of accumulated Ama (toxins) from the body. We then focus on restoration of healthy microbes (gut flora) for the next two months. Finally, we work on rejuvenation for the last two months.
